Picking a date always takes careful planning since, we want to ensure that everyone has opportunity to join us!

The party is scheduled for...

Saturday, August 21st

The Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipes and the BBQ get  fired up  on the 21st - bring your appetite!

The festivities start at 1pm
and club will provide the comestibles and soft libations (that's food and soft drinks).

If you'd like to bring something to throw on the grill, a plate or dish of your favorite food or dessert, we won't mind!!!

Alcohol will be BYOB.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our beloved member Charlie, for hosting the event and we extend our appreciation for his gracious hospitality.

For our outing this year, of course, as always, pipe smoking is allowed, encouraged, and de rigueur!

In keeping with our tradition, thankfully, and due to your generous dues payments, we will once again be able to provide as a gift to each attendee, a free commemorative, "NYPC Summer Cob 2021" Corn Cob Pipe!

For this year's event, we will enjoy corn cobs, made by the ORIGINAL !!! - The Missouri Meerschaum Company – the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of cool, sweet-smoking corn cob pipes who began the tradition for which Washington, MO. became famous for.  Washington, Missouri has long been known as the “Corn Cob Pipe Capital of the World". The cobs provided for our event are made possible by the generosity of dear friend, Mr. Phil Morgan, General Manager of The Missouri Meerschaum Company!  Mr. Morgan has extended to our beloved Club a wonderfully generous offer on one of his most popular corn cob models. Our BBQ Club Cobs are always a huge hit with all fortunate enough to have received one.  This year's selection is another stellar incentive to attend our event!

I just want to take this opportunity to say that, I know that I have met Mr. Morgan at the Chicago Show many times over the years.  It is always a pleasure to see him and his wonderful display table at the Chicago Show. Not knowing what to do about a give away for this years event, it was our own beloved member Dmitri Sassov who suggested I contact the Missouri Meerschaum Co. and tell them about our Club, our BBQ and our tradition and so I did.  I corresponded with Marilyn from the company who referred our request for cobs to Mr. Morgan who graciously extended a wonderful discount, enabling us to remain within our budget and allowed us the pleasure of enjoying his cobs at this year’s Club BBQ!  I cannot thank Mr. Morgan enough for his generosity in support of our Club and I know I speak for the entire NY Pipe Club when I say that!

Here is Mr. Morgan at the Chicago Pipe Show:
The 2013 Chicago Pipe Show Report | PipesMagazine.com

You should know that we have been offered a really, really great discount on this model by Mr. Morgan and our friends at The Missouri Meerschaum Co. and we appreciate that so very much!  Please visit their website to see all of their offerings.  https://corncobpipe.com/

So, as for what model of corn cob will each attendee to our BBQ receive? One of their most popular models, a fantastic looking authentic and historic Corn Cob Pipe!!!

The model is none other than the Missouri Pride!  That's right and you will have a choice of straight or bent! (as supplies last of each)

Here's some photos of what each attendee can expect:

For more about the "Missouri Pride" model please see below and at their website here:https://corncobpipe.com/

The Missouri Pride Corn Cob Pipe from Missouri Meerschaum is a natural corn cob pipe at its simplest and finest.

It has an all-natural, medium-sized bowl in a classic 5th Avenue shape.

The Missouri Pride is filtered and comes with a black bit.

Due to the nature of the corn cobs themselves, you may notice some chipping on the top edge of your pipe.
This is perfectly normal and won’t in any way affect the way your pipe smokes. The chips only add to the charm and character of your corn cob pipe. Enjoy!

Available in Straight or Bent Bit

5th Avenue Bowl Shape Only

6 mm Filter

Approximate Dimensions

Straight Length:   6 in / 152.4 mm

Bent Length:   5.75 in / 146.05 mm

Chamber Depth:   1.25 in / 31.75 mm

… and here's what you can expect to be filling those cobs with:

And to compliment the Missouri Pride Corn Cob pipe, this years tobacco offering will naturally be the 4 Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Blends, blended by master tobacco blender, and dearest friend of the club, Russ Oullette.  These blends debuted at the 2014 Chicago Pipe Show and were a huge success.  These four blends will be waiting for you after you receive your official club cob.

Missouri Meerschaum Great Dane

The Missouri Meerschaum Great Dane pipes are their take on Danish designs, so when we wanted to make a tobacco with the same name, we thought that a Danish-inspired aromatic would be the best choice. This blend consists of a good portion of gently-steamed black Cavendish, select Virginias and some white Burley, which have been topped with a smooth and rich combination of a deep, dark cherry, without the sharpness of the typical "maraschino" flavor, and warm notes of vanilla and caramel, for an easy-smoking blend with a lightly-sweet flavor and an amazing aroma.

Missouri Meerschaum Missouri Pride

Missouri Pride is the kind of blend that most pipe enthusiasts would associate with the Missouri Meerschaum corn cob experience. This is a blend of superb quality Burleys with some Virginias added, and minimal top flavoring. The blend is made up of broken flake, with some ribbon-cut Burley, for a nice, even burn, and the flake processing adds a deeper flavor to the tobacco. For a smooth blend with real tobacco flavor you can enjoy all day long, try a pouch of Missouri Pride.

Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman

Country Gentleman represents a unique departure among pouch tobaccos. This blend features a mixture of premium bright and red Virginias, which is enriched with Perique, and a small amount of dark-fired Kentucky for body. This is a tobacco that would be at home in a tin with a higher price tag, but to befit bearing the Missouri Meerschaum name, it comes to you at an everyday bargain price. Enjoy the naturally sweet, and tangy character of Country Gentleman.

Missouri Meerschaum American Patriot

American Patriot is a highly unusual type of blend to find in a pouch. This is a Latakia-based blend, enhanced by quality Virginia leaf, and the exotic influence of Turkish Smyrna, with just a touch of Burley for excellent burning characteristics. A light top note of Kentucky Bourbon makes for a nice addition to the aroma, but is undetectable in the flavor. For a superb value in an English-style blend, light up a bowl of American Patriot.
